The Goddess Factor

Funny how a piece of music can grab you,and send your imagination soaring.Grown up in a very musical family ,there was always music around, whether it would the radio,or family members jamming;it was only natural that I took up music in high school.Though I played flute in senior band,I haven't played in years,*smacks hand * (Bad Dena), a situation I mean to remedy soon.Playing varied types of music gave me a further appreciation of the different eras,so I was constantly exposing myself to all venues.Lately,I have been listening to alot of medieval, goth, soundtracks, and other esoteric forms, that cannot truly be pigeonholed into anyone category.I find some music can be totally inspiring that I get stories running through my head, without realizing it;others I just listen to ,just for the pure sake of listening.Lately I have been very impressed by the quality of music from movie soundtracks, and even some computer game soundtracks. For those ,who haven't fully experienced the true beauty of these offerings, take time from the norm, and take a step into the unknown.

It 's funny, when I first looked upon her, I thought she was lovely, but didn't give her much thought;but somehow over the last few weeks while I looked at other candidates, somehow I kept returning to her.Don't know whether it was the dark cascading hair, against the luminous pale resin,or the wistful haunted air about her, that grabbed ahold of my heart,ad refused to let go.Don't know how it happened but I found my lovely lady of the stars; my muse Aldebaran.
I know for thing, things are going to be interesting once she arrives.

There is a saying that when an artist is kissed by a muse, it is then he truly becomes one with his work, and creates his best.I think my muse ,has been my alter ego Aldebaran. As a lover of the celtic mythos, she was inspired by the song Aldebaran by Enya's first album The Celts, which has been my introduction to the world of Celtic music. It wasn't until years later that my muse Aldebaran came to me, in the form of a half elven warrior, during my rpging days before I become,a wife, and mother. The creation was there but needed that essential spark to truly bring her to life.It wasn't until my hubby introduced me to Conquer Online, (which he regrets now ),that I created her as a mage, and then she truly began to come to life for me. Being a doll collector,I have been searching for the perfect doll, that epitomizes my lovely muse, but so far the ones I saw ,were too static, too stiff, and just weren't capable of the full range of movement that I desired in a doll. It wasn't until a few people started posting pictures of BJDs ( resin balljointed dolls) on a doll board I frequent, that something awoke inside me. At last, here was a doll that was capable of the full range of movement that I longed for but the faces did not call to me.So I continued to wait, and watch out for new dolls coming out,to find the right one that said Aldebaran to me.In the meantime, I had fallen for one of smaller more child like dolls; though she would not be my lovely muse, she would be loved nonetheless.I await her arrival with a great anticipation, and hopefully while getting to know her, I will find my muse in future offerings,as more companies are coming out with their own versions of these resin angels that seem to touch a part of your soul in their own way.
What to say....what to say!First time I created a blog, and I'm drawing a blank as to what to say in my first post.Probably talking a little about myself, would help. I'm a proud mom, of three beautiful children, lucky wife to my best friend (( *smooches * honey)),I enjoy writing, drawing, listening to music, rpgs, dolls, getting together with good friends.I love history, Arthurian ,and celtic lore.I love medieval,or renaissance style clothing, and found myself listening to medieval music, which is a far cry from the '80's pop, that I used to enjoy.
I have a feeling this may be more an online journal, than anything else.Having created a webpage on yahoo,I just wasn't happy with the service, and wanted to find my own little space on the web.Thankfully my hubby ,gave me the link to this place, and once I get a little more comfortable ,I may have more to say.
