THE DREAMING pt 3
He was in Monte Carlo, when he felt it; with two lovely women hanging off his arm, as he rolled the dice; he could feel the uneasiness creep over him.Although most Immortals would scoff, he knew that it was a summons, but to what,he wasn't sure. Excusing himself from the table, and his companions; he strolled nonchalantly across the casino floor, his dark grey eyes thoroughly scanning the room's occupants, yet his face remained impassive.Until now, he was bored.Bored of playing the role of the playboy; bored of the constant rounds of parties, and galas. He just wanted to hide away, and be alone; but that would mean he would be haunted by the memory of Her.The only woman who meant the world to him; the only one who gave any meaning to his life, and yet took it away when she died. His beloved Blackrain.
After she died,he wanted to join her; taking on all the quests ,that would ensure him death but yet death constantly eluded him.He became a Berserker, fighting in the front ranks, searching for someone to end his misery. Then someone heard his unspoken plea for death, and was about to grant it to him,but fate, however ,had other plans for him.Instead of dying,he rose as one of the Immortals, and he cursed the fates for denying him death yet again.
It was Merrick who found him wandering the battlefields, maddened by fury, and grief;and it was Merrick, who trained him,and helped him put his past behind him.Blackrain ,was gone, and there was nothing he could do ,to bring her back, but he could at least honor her memory, and move on.Merrick introduced him,to Llewelyn, and Angel, two fellow Immortals; who against all odds formed strong bonds of friendship. They made a point of seeking out the descendants of their mortal family, and watched over them like hawks. Llewelyn's case was a little different however. With his brother, and his Sister -in-law missing, he had smuggled his niece from his father's court, to the Sidhe court, in order to protect her from the Dark Queen. Llewelyn, had spent most of his Immortal life seeking out his missing twin,to no avail. It was as if Amergin, simply vanished into thin air.Strangely enough, Tyrel, emphasized with the other man;for he understood loss well enough.
Snapping himself back to the present, he was disgusted that he let his mind wander.
"You're slipping Ty, getting sloppy" he muttered to himself. Then steeled himself for the task at hand.
